Sub:     Science Quiz
 
 
 Dear Principal,
 

  

As you are well aware the Central Board of Secondary Education has been taking several initiatives to bring greater academic vibrance among the affiliated schools. Keeping in view that the current calendar year-2004 has been designated as the year of Science, the Board has decided to launch a Science Quiz for students in collaboration with Intel India. The Proposed quiz aims at infusing the spirit of enquiry and discovery in school students and to arouse their interest in Science and Technology. The following will be the parameters of the competition.

  

a)

Every school will be represented by only three students studying in any of the classes from IX-XII

 

b)

The quiz will be in three stages. The first stage will be a written quiz. The schools selected in the first round will participate in the second round which will be at the regional level. The second stage will be a oral quiz. The schools selected at the regional level will participate at the National level competition.

 

 

c)

The prizes for the winning schools will be as under:

 

   

1.

 The first prize Rs.20,000/-

 

 

2.

Second prize Rs.12,000/-

 

 

3.

Third prize Rs. 7,500/-

 

 

 

Apart from the above, the Regional winning teams will get a cash prize of Rs.3000/-

 

d)

The registration fee for each participating school will be Rs.600/-.

 

e)

The first stage of competition will be held in the month of April 2004.

   

The last date for the receipt of registration forms from schools is 15th March 2004. Please send us your forms as quickly as you can so that we can finalise the quiz design and mail it to you in time.
